Registered indications
Tylan 50 Premix is registered for the prevention of ileitis in pigs; as an aid in controlling enteric diseases caused by organisms susceptible to tylosin in pigs; and as an aid in stimulating growth and improving feed efficiency in pigs.
Proven health and performance benefits
Extensive research and commercial experience have demonstrated that Tylan significantly improves growth rates by up to 22.5% and feed efficiency by up to 9% by protecting pigs from ileitis.(1) In doing so, Tylan helps to produce more full-value pigs by reducing attrition due to deaths, culls and liveweight variation.
How Tylan works
Tylan is a proven antimicrobial developed by Elanco specifically for use in livestock. Added to the rations of pigs, it provides highly effective control of Lawsonia intracellularis, the causative agent of ileitis. Once ingested, the active ingredient concentrates in the cells of the intestine, where it works intracellularly to kill invading pathogens and protect the integrity of the intestinal lining. Its active ingredient, tylosin, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis by ribosome binding.
Feeding instructions
Tylan 50 Premix is added to rations at 10–100 ppm tylosin per tonne of complete feed. Mix thoroughly before use. Always read the label directions before use.
