Flubenol™ Oral Wormer for Pigs and Chickens (flubendazole)

The broad spectrum wormer for pigs.

Flubenol contains flubendazole, a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic. It may be used to aid in the control of sensitive strains of the following gastrointestinal worms in pigs: Ascaris suum, Hyostrongylus rubidis, Oesophagostomum dentatum and lungworm (Metastrongylus apri) in pigs.

Important Safety Information

Always read and follow the label directions.

May irritate the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes. When opening the container and preparing product for use, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and elbow-length chemical resistant gloves. Wash hands after use. After each day’s use, wash gloves and contaminated clothing.

The use of Flubenol is contraindicated in pigeons and parrots.

Withholding Periods

MEAT: REMOVE ALL MEDICATED FEED 7 days before slaughter for human consumption.

TRADE ADVICE (ESI): DO NOT USE less than 7 days before slaughter for export. Before using this product, confirm the current ESI from Elanco Australasia on 1800226324 or the APVMA website (www.apvma.gov.au/residues).

Directions for Use

Pigs:

Ascaris suum, Hyostrongylus rubidis, Oesophagostomum dentatum and Metastrongylus apri: 600 g of Flubenol per tonne of feed (equivalent to 30 g flubendazole (30 ppm)) for 10 consecutive days.

Individual and single administration to breeding pigs:

Flubenol is mixed into the feed at a dose of 5 mg flubendazole per kg body weight. This corresponds to one supplied measuring spoon (13 g) of Flubenol per 130 kg of body weight.

Flubenol should be thoroughly mixed into feed to ensure even distribution of the medication.
Do not overdose.

Important Safety Information

Treatment with Flubenol gives optimal results only when strict hygiene of the pig sheds is practiced.
Resistance may develop to any chemical.
