Monteban is an ionophore that prevents coccidiosis, helping to protect Intestinal Integrity in the starter, grower and finisher feeds. Monteban™ can prevent subclinical coccidiosis, which can lead to acute outbreaks. Coccidiosis prevention also protects birds from enteritis, a prevalent, costly condition. The global economic impact of coccidiosis due to decreased performance and increased morbidity and mortality is estimated at $300 million.1

While coccidiosis is a risk throughout the bird’s lifecycle, older birds can be more vulnerable due to high coccidia counts in litter and a lack of immunity to late-breaking coccidia species.

A loss of Intestinal Integrity due to coccidia contributes to poor animal welfare and reduced feed efficiency, as nutrients are lost to malabsorption and fighting disease.

Using Monteban™ in the finisher feed reduces the risk of coccidiosis, protecting older birds’ Intestinal Integrity and helping producers deliver more Full Value Poultry™ to market.

EGGS: DO NOT USE in chickens which are producing or may in the future produce eggs or egg products for human consumption.

MILK: DO NOT USE in cows which are producing or may in the future produce milk or milk products for human consumption.

Directions For Use

Restraints

DO NOT USE in chickens producing eggs.

DO NOT USE in cattle producing milk for human consumption.

Contra-indications

DO NOT USE in turkeys or game birds - may be fatal.

DO NOT USE in horses or other equines - may be fatal.

Poultry consuming narasin should not be treated with tiamulin.  Severe growth depression or death may occur.

DO NOT USE concurrently with another ionophore, as severe growth depression or death may occur.

Precautions

Mixing errors resulting in high concentrations of Monteban™ 100 Premix or feeding this premix undiluted could be fatal to cattle.

Mixing Directions

IMPORTANT - THIS PREMIX MUST BE THOROUGHLY MIXED IN FEED BEFORE USE.

Broiler Chickens:  Thoroughly mix 0.60kg to 0.80kg of Monteban™ 100 Premix in one tonne of feed to provide 60-80g narasin activity per tonne of complete feed.

Thorough mixing of the Monteban™ 100 Premix with a small quantity of finished feed (20 to 50kg) before incoroporation into the bulk of the finished feed is recommended.

Lotfed Cattle: Complete feeds: Thoroughly mix Monteban™ 100 Premix with the ration to provide from 5-13g/tonne (ppm) narasin in the ration.  Rations containing silages or other wet feeds should be corrected to a 90% dry matter basis.
